Requirements
- Eligibility to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including applicable residency requirements, and the right to work in the United Kingdom; some roles may also be subject to nationality requirements for security obligations.
- Deep expertise in full-stack software development, modern programming languages, and cloud-native patterns.
- Proven experience designing and delivering secure, high-availability enterprise applications.
- Strong familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Pragmatic decision-making that balances technical quality with delivery needs.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain complex architecture to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership skills, including the ability to empower team members to take ownership.
- IT engineering and application architecture experience, including senior developer or technical lead experience guiding Agile/SAFe teams.
- IT / Engineering NVQ Level 4, a Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- A professional developer or cloud architecture credential (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Developer Associate); Agile / SAFe certification (e.g. SAFe Practitioner or Agile Software Engineer); and ITIL Foundation.
Responsibilities
- Translate SAFe features and enablers into clean, scalable architectural designs and technical stories.
- Establish coding standards, conduct peer code reviews, and reduce technical debt.
- Work with system architects and other Tech Leads to align dependencies across multiple Scrum teams.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers, fostering continuous learning and technical excellence.
