Salary: £43,000 - 50,000 per year
Requirements
- Proven commercial experience in software engineering, developing and delivering production-grade applications
- Strong backend development experience using Java and Spring Boot
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and scalable backend services
- Experience using Node.js to develop and maintain applications or services
- Exposure to frontend technologies, ideally Vue.js
- Good understanding of software design principles, coding standards and engineering best practices
- Experience writing automated tests and maintaining high standards of code quality
- Exposure to cloud platforms, ideally AWS
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git and DevOps practices
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java and Spring Boot
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs for business-critical systems and applications
- Contribute to frontend development using Vue.js and develop applications and services using Node.js
- Deliver software solutions across the full development lifecycle, from initial design through deployment and ongoing support
- Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming and knowledge-sharing activities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and Delivery teams to deliver technical solutions
- Support CI/CD pipelines, automation and DevOps practices to improve software delivery
- Troubleshoot technical issues, optimise application performance and contribute to continuous improvement
