Shipping AssociateJob DescriptionThis role supports a powder coating operation by safely handling, moving, and organizing raw materials and finished products in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The shipping associate ensures accurate receiving and shipping of materials, prepares customer orders, and maintains an orderly workspace while following all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Physically handle, move, load, unload, and organize raw materials and finished products throughout the facility.
• Load finished products onto customer trucks and delivery vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
• Unload incoming raw material deliveries and supplier shipments and place them in designated areas.
• Receive, move, and organize incoming and outgoing materials to support production and shipping schedules.
• Operate forklifts to safely transport and position materials throughout the warehouse and production areas.
• Pull, stage, and prepare finished products for customer pickup or shipment according to shipping instructions.
• Verify materials, product types, and quantities against packing slips or shipping documentation.
• Store raw materials and finished products in designated locations to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Assist with general warehouse organization, including housekeeping and maintaining clear work areas.
• Handle materials carefully to prevent damage to products and equipment.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
• Coordinate with drivers, customers, and production personnel to ensure smooth shipping and receiving operations.

Essential Skills

• Previous shipping and receiving experience in a warehouse or production environment.
• Ability to operate forklifts safely to transport and position materials.
• Experience strapping pallets and securing loads on pallets to prevent shifting or damage.
• Ability to operate hand trucks and pallet jacks for material movement.
• Comfort performing physical work throughout the entire shift, including lifting, carrying, and standing.
• Dependable and organized, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Basic communication skills to coordinate with drivers, customers, and production personnel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in production, general production, inventory, forklift operation, and shipping and receiving.
• Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a powder coating facility in Fountain Valley, CA, working primarily in the warehouse and shipping areas.

The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with regular overtime starting at 5:00 a.m., and candidates should be comfortable working approximately 10 hours of overtime per week. The role involves continuous physical activity, including lifting, moving, and organizing materials, and operating equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. The environment is fast-paced and production-oriented, with an emphasis on safety, organization, and clear communication.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fountain Valley, CA.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
