Job Title: WelderJob DescriptionJoin a long-term construction project in Manhattan, performing high-quality structural welding on the exterior framework of a high-rise building. You will focus on flux core, MIG, and TIG welding to help add multiple floors to an existing structure while adhering to strict safety and building standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform flux core, MIG, and TIG welding on structural steel and building framework on the exterior of a high-rise.
• Execute vertical and structural welds to support the addition of new floors to an existing building.
• Interpret and follow project plans, drawings, and specifications to complete structural welding tasks accurately.
• Ensure all welds meet applicable building, safety, and quality standards, including DOB and AWS requirements.
• Work safely at heights on the exterior of the building, following all OSHA and site safety regulations.
• Inspect, maintain, and operate welding equipment and tools to ensure proper function and safe use.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and construction team members to coordinate work and meet project timelines.
• Follow established procedures for site access, safety training, and documentation related to licenses and certifications.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in flux core welding, including AWS FCAW processes.
• Strong skills in MIG welding for structural steel applications.
• Ability to perform TIG welding where required on the project.
• Experience welding structural steel and framework on building exteriors, particularly high-rise structures.
• Valid DOB Welding License.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• SST (Site Safety Training) certification.
• AWS FCAW certification.
• F60 certification.
• G60 certification.
• Ability to work safely outdoors and at heights on building exteriors.
• Solid understanding of construction site safety practices and regulations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience on multi-story or high-rise construction projects.
• Familiarity with New York City building codes and DOB requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and welding symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, structurally sound welds.
• Reliable work habits and ability to meet project deadlines on long-term assignments.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Brooklyn, NY.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
