Job Title: CDL Class B DriverJob DescriptionDrive a Class B commercial vehicle to complete local pickups and deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. This role involves operating box trucks, handling loading and unloading of materials, and ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with DOT regulations and company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a CDL Class B commercial vehicle on local routes for pickups and deliveries.
• Complete assigned delivery routes in a timely and efficient manner while adhering to schedules.
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness.
• Load, secure, transport, and unload materials or products according to established procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date delivery records, mileage logs, and vehicle documentation.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies at all times while on the road and at delivery sites.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding delivery status, delays, route changes, or vehicle concerns.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service at all delivery and pickup locations.
• Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and presentable, both inside the cab and in the cargo area.
• Promptly report any maintenance needs, mechanical issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Work independently to manage daily responsibilities and stay on schedule without direct supervision.
• Perform general labor tasks associated with loading and unloading as needed to complete deliveries.

Essential Skills

• Valid CDL Class B license.
• Acceptable driving record demonstrating safe and responsible vehicle operation.
• Proven ability to safely operate commercial vehicles, including box trucks.
• Ability to meet and pass all applicable DOT requirements.
• Comfort with physical work, including loading and unloading materials and products.
• Strong attendance, reliability, and commitment to meeting scheduled routes.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay on schedule.
• Professional customer service skills when interacting with clients and delivery contacts.
• General labor skills related to handling, securing, and moving materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous commercial driving or delivery experience preferred.
• Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
• Experience with loading and unloading procedures in a delivery or warehouse environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with dispatch and customers regarding delivery details and issues.

Work EnvironmentThis role primarily involves operating a Class B commercial box truck on local routes, with frequent loading and unloading of materials at various delivery locations. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Edison, NJ.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48000.00 - $52000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
