Job Title: General Laborerđź“Ť Location: Jeffersonville, IN (Delaco)đź’˛ Pay Rate: $17.50 - $18.00 per hourđź•’ Shifts Available: 3rd Shift & Weekend ShiftsJob DescriptionThis role involves working in an industrial steel processing environment, handling large sheet metal rather than typical warehouse packing tasks. You will support production and shipping operations by stacking, inspecting, and preparing steel materials and pallets for shipment, while working closely with a team in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Hand stack large sheets of metal with a team, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials.
- Perform quality inspections on metal sheets to identify defects, errors, or irregularities before shipping.
- Load and unload sheets of metal from the production line, maintaining steady workflow and minimizing downtime.
- Band material securely for shipment to ensure products are stable and protected during transport.
- Prepare pallets for shipping, including organizing and arranging materials to meet shipping requirements.
- Bolt down steel on pallets before shipment to maintain safety and structural integrity in transit.
- Set up and prep pallets that steel will be placed on, following established procedures and guidelines.
- Assist with additional production, warehouse, or shipping duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a team-first mindset.
- Remain on your feet for 1012 hours per day, maintaining productivity and focus throughout the shift.
Essential Skills
- Experience in manufacturing and/or warehouse environments is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding labor, including lifting, stacking, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong dependability with consistent attendance and reliability.
- Positive, cooperative attitude and willingness to take on tasks outside of a narrow job description.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Basic understanding of production, packing, shipping, receiving, and stacking processes.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jeffersonville, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
