Job Title: General LaborerJob DescriptionThe General Laborer builds and assembles PODs that hold inventory on a robotics floor, working in a loud, fast-paced, and team-oriented warehouse environment. This role involves repetitive heavy lifting, use of hand and power tools, and maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy workspace in accordance with company policies and procedures.PAY- $23/hrSHIFT- 7am - 3:30pmResponsibilities
- Build and assemble PODs, metal workstations, and inventory shelving units on the robotics floor according to specifications and production targets.
- Work as part of a team to complete a designated number of PODs within specific timeframes while maintaining quality standards.
- Perform repetitive physical tasks including lifting, pulling, pushing, and positioning materials and equipment.
- Use hand tools such as hammers, rivet guns, tape measures, and pallet jacks safely and effectively during assembly work.
- Operate power tools as required for construction and production tasks, following all safety guidelines.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work area and ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- Follow instructions, blueprints, or measurements to ensure accurate construction and assembly.
- Monitor materials and components during assembly to identify and report any defects or issues.
- Support general labor and production activities as needed to meet daily operational goals.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and adjust to changing work demands in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Skills
- Experience in general labor, construction, production, or carpentry, preferably in commercial construction and assembly environments.
- Ability to perform repetitive heavy lifting of up to approximately 50 pounds and to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time in a warehouse environment.
- Proficiency in reading and using a tape measure accurately.
- Experience working with a variety of hand tools, including hammers, rivet guns, and pallet jacks.
- Experience using power tools safely and effectively in a construction or production setting.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, loud environment.
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to following safety procedures and guidelines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in commercial construction or assembly work.
- Experience building or assembling metal structures, workstations, or inventory shelving units.
- Comfort working in a loud, busy, and sometimes chaotic warehouse environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production goals.
- Attention to detail when measuring, aligning, and assembling components.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Rochester, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
