Job summary
Located in Norfolk near the market town of Attleborough, Priory Lombard House is a specialist level 2 rehabilitation service for males with a learning disability. Care also extends to a dual diagnosis of autism, personality disorder and mental health conditions, with or without a history of offending behaviour.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients
Supports the lead OT in co-ordinating the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication. Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis. Maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patients rehabilitation / progress. Leads in a specific area with some responsibility for service and team performance; creative problem solver; supervises staff/students; consistently undertakes self-development. Ensures the effective and efficient management of junior staff.

Requirements Essential

The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma in Occupational Therapy, or a Degree, Honours Degree, or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy, and be accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). They will be a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT). The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to think critically and reflectively when making professional judgements, including in complex and unpredictable contexts, seeking guidance from peers and more experienced colleagues when appropriate. They will actively listen and seek the views of others to support shared ownership in decision-making. Prior experience working within an Occupational Therapy setting as a qualified member of staff is essential for this role.
