About this role
Energy5 specializes in end-to-end EV charging infrastructure solutions, from strategic planning and engineering to construction, deployment, and long-term operations. We go beyond charger installation to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performance infrastructure designed to maximize long-term ROI and support the evolving needs of our clients.
- The Rebate & Incentive Sales Manager is responsible for generating new revenue by identifying commercial customers, partners, and project owners that can benefit from Energy5’s rebate, grant, utility incentive, and funding-management capabilities.
- This is a dedicated sales role.
- The individual will prospect, develop, qualify, and close opportunities where incentives can materially improve project economics or where customers need support identifying, securing, and managing available funding.
- The role will work closely with Energy5’s Funding, Sales, Partnerships, Estimating, and Operations teams, but its primary responsibility is business development and revenue generation.
- The successful candidate must be able to translate complex incentive programs into simple commercial value for customers.
- Rather than simply explaining that a rebate exists, this person must be able to identify who should pursue it, why it matters financially, what actions are required, and how Energy5 can help manage the process.
- This role supports both standalone rebate-management opportunities and broader turnkey infrastructure projects where incentives create the entry point for Energy5 to develop a larger customer relationship.
- Generate New Rebate and Incentive Revenue: Prospect, qualify, develop, and close commercial customers seeking assistance with EV charging rebates, utility incentives, grants, make-ready programs, and related funding opportunities.
- Turn Funding Programs Into Sales Campaigns: Translate active and upcoming incentive programs into targeted business-development campaigns based on geography, customer type, property profile, equipment eligibility, project timing, and available funding.
- Build Strategic Customer and Partner Relationships: Develop relationships with commercial property owners, fleets, developers, CPOs, OEMs, consultants, contractors, utilities, municipalities, and other organizations that can generate recurring rebate-management opportunities.
- Sell the Business Value of Rebate Management: Help customers understand eligibility, potential incentive value, application requirements, timing, construction dependencies, documentation, reimbursement structure, and how Energy5 reduces the administrative burden associated with securing funding.
- Qualify Financial and Project Readiness: Determine whether a customer has a viable project, decision-making authority, appropriate timing, required capital, and a realistic path to meet program requirements before significant internal resources are committed.
- Understand Pre- vs. Post-Construction Funding: Clearly explain the financial implications of programs that provide funding or approval before construction versus programs that reimburse customers after completion.
- Develop Rebate-Led Turnkey Opportunities: Identify when a funding conversation can expand into engineering, equipment, construction, commissioning, financing, or other Energy5 services and coordinate the appropriate internal handoff.
- Maintain Sales Pipeline and Forecasting: Own opportunities in Salesforce from prospecting through close, maintaining accurate deal value, stage, next step, probability, expected close date, and revenue forecast.
- Coordinate With the Funding Team: Partner with Energy5’s rebate and funding specialists for detailed program interpretation, application development, documentation, and execution while maintaining ownership of the customer relationship and commercial process.
- Maintain Market Awareness: Stay informed on new and changing utility, state, federal, municipal, and other incentive programs and quickly identify where those changes create new sales opportunities.
