We are looking for a Peer Support Worker to join our Primary Care Mental Health Network in Holderness, to support individuals accessing Primary Care Mental Health Services.
The role uses lived experience of mental health and recovery to build supportive peer relationships that promote hope, empowerment, and self-management. The post holder will work as part of a Multi-Disciplinary team to support individuals in identifying strengths, setting meaningful recovery goals, and accessing appropriate services and community resources.
The role focuses on enabling individuals to take an active role in their recovery, improving well-being and supporting social inclusion.
Main duties of the job

Knowledge Essential
Understanding of the issues and concerns of mental health service users Understanding of the impact of stigma and discrimination Safeguarding and topics covered in any Peer Support Worker training e.g. confidentiality, boundaries, role limitations Self-awareness and recognition of your own limitations Basic IT skills
Desirable
Willingness to undertake further learning and skills development Mental Health First Aid course Other relevant training/courses
Experience Essential
Lived experience of Primary mental health services and able to reflect on their personal experience of Recovery that has followed this Appropriate knowledge/experience of mental health environments Direct personal lived experience of using mental health services, with: A positive approach to recovery -An ability and willingness to disclose personal experience of recovery in order to influence others positively
Desirable
Experience of the health and social care service either paid or as a volunteer Experience or using a range of self-management or recovery tools and techniques Experience of working in a team or a group environment
