Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time (0.8 WTE) permanent Physiotherapist with an interest in neuro-rehabilitation. We are looking to recruit a B6 Specialist Physiotherapist for our Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Trafford General Hospital.
You will be part of a dynamic, well-established multidisciplinary team, working alongside a Clinical Lead, experienced Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists and Rehabilitation Assistants. Our team is committed to delivering a holistic approach to patient care, ensuring high-quality outcomes in line with national guidelines.
This Band 6 role offers the chance to contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the education of students and junior staff, while continuing your own professional development.
Main duties of the job
The post holder should have proven practical skills in neurological physiotherapy, with competent respiratory skills. You should have excellent communication skills, evidence of neurological management and rehabilitation skills, multidisciplinary working and experience of complex discharge planning within the NHS.
You will have skills in therapeutic handling, normal movement, upper limb rehabilitation, spasticity management, specialist seating and positioning.
Alongside the clinical work the successful applicant will contribute to the supervision and appraisal of junior staff with support from the senior therapy team. You will have proven clinical skills and a strong commitment to Multi-Disciplinary Team working. You will be able to deliver specialist training and education to junior staff and students as well as multi-disciplinary colleagues.
You will be expected to contribute to the Physiotherapy on-call service and weekend working.

Education, Qualification & Registration Essential
HCPC registration BSC Honours degree in physiotherapy or equivalent Evidence of relevant post graduate training including attendance at relevant specialist courses
Desirable
Registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Involvement in special interest group eg ACPIN Completion of relevant neuro specific courses
Knowledge & Experience Essential
Previous postgraduate clinical experience as a junior in a broad rotational post Specialist knowledge of physiotherapy assessment and treatment technique Knowledge of local and national policies and procedures - HCPC and CSP Codes of Conduct, BSRM, NICE, Infection Control, Manual Handling, etc Evidence of continual professional development Experience of and commitment to interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary team working Evidence of contribution to clinical education and in-service training of less experienced staff/students and assistants Understanding of clinical effectiveness, including experience of quality issues, audit and evidence based practice Experience of supervision of students and assistants Demonstrate knowledge of safeguarding practices relevant to the clinical area Previous Physiotherapy NHS experience
