Main duties of the job

In this varied and fast-paced role, you'll have a primary function as :

Welcoming patients, dealing with enquiries face to face and on the telephone, making appointments and recording personnel details.

You'll also have the chance to learn all aspects of the team's work, helping to create a smooth, high-quality service for patients, relatives, and clinical teams.

Your day might include:

Welcoming patients to clinic and supporting them with queries Answering calls with empathy, accuracy and professionalism Scheduling, changing, or cancelling appointments Updating patient details and ensuring records are accurate Working closely with clinical teams and other departments Helping us meet Trust waiting-time and data-quality targets No two days are the same -- and that's exactly what makes this role rewarding.

Person Specification

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE Essential

Recent administrative experience requiring accuracy Experience handling confidential information - describe the situation and how confidentiality was maintained.

Desirable

Previous use of Windows-based systems - specify systems and tasks performed.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING Essential

Good General education to GCSE level (or equivalent) including Maths and English

SKILLS & ABILITIES Essential

Numeracy/literacy skills demonstrated through real tasks. Keyboard and data-entry skills with examples. Excellent communication skills with a real scenario provided. Teamwork skills demonstrated through a specific contribution. Ability to work independently using a real example.
