About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Urgent and Integrated Care Division at Dorset County Hospital for a Band 6 Senior Business Manager in Cardiology.

The successful candidate will join the well respected Cardiology Team and provide an invaluable level of support within cardiac physiology and specialist services.

Applicants will be expected to work with a wide variety of health care professionals within the Department, Care Group, across the Division and the wider trust, be enthusiastic, pro-active, motivated with a passion for service development and the delivery of optimal care for our patients.

This is a full time permanent position.

Main duties of the job

To provide leadership and day to day management focusing on the delivery of services within Cardiology

To provide line management to non-medical staff within the care group.

To work collaboratively with the Care Group multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of all aspects of evidence-based patient centred care in a safe, effective environment.

To specifically improve the quality of care provided to the care group portfolio of services.

Develop and maintain standards of the quality of care in line with national performance targets and trust initiatives and polices.

To work with and support the Assistant Service Manager, Deputy Divisional Director of Operations, Clinical Leads and Matrons to provide a cohesive management team for services.

Person Specification

Education, Qualifications & Training Essential

Specialist knowledge to post registration/graduate diploma level or relevant experimental experience

Desirable

First Degree or equivalent management qualifications e.g. DMS

Experience Essential

Recent management experience involving budgetary, staff and service management in an acute hospital setting Experience in the management and delivery of significant organisational change programmes Evidence of experience in developing and implementing service/business planning Experience of project management or work where specific time-limited objectives must be achieved

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge Essential

Leadership skills demonstrating ability to influence and negotiate successful outcomes Evidence of ability to undertake complex duties without supervision Evidence of effective communication skills both written and oral Proven ability to manage and work effectively as part of multidisciplinary team Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise a varied and substantial workload Ability to use the full range of IT office systems and equipment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and the internet Able to demonstrate innovation with good analytical skills Able to demonstrate knowledge of Information Governance Evidence of continuous personal development Proven ability to manage within agreed resources
