Job summary
Were looking for a Healthcare Assistant bank staff to join our team in South Ceredigion providing compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care during nights shifts.
As a Healthcare Assistant, youll be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team delivering holistic, person-centred end of life care. Working under the guidance of registered professionals, youll support patients and those important to them with personal care, symptom management, and emotional support.
Main duties of the job
Youll contribute to care planning, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a safe and dignified environment. This is a compassionate and hands-on role where youll make a meaningful difference in peoples lives during their final stages, while also supporting their loved ones through grief and bereavement..

The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) £13.45 per hour + enhancements
Contract: As and When bank contract. Night Shifts only. 10:00pm - 07:00am. 7 days per week service.

What were looking for:
NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent Level 2 qualification (e.g. NCFE, BTEC), plus functional skills in numeracy and literacy at Level 2 At least 6 months of recent care delivery experience in a health or social care setting Strong communication skills with the ability to hold person-centred, empathetic conversations and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team Knowledge of palliative and end of life care, including holistic care planning and symptom management Ability to plan and prioritise care, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate appropriately A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
