Would you like to be part of the Chaplaincy team, providing support to patients, carers, visitors and staff? Can you commit to at least 4 hours per week? If so, then the Chaplaincy Volunteer role is for you.

Full training will be provided for all of the above roles. So if you are looking to expand your skill base, gain valuable experience for your CV, or enjoy helping out in a varied role, then this is the opportunity for you.
Parking expenses/travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Regular commitment of a minimum of 3/4 hours per week, Monday Friday, 09.30 am 12:00pm

Main duties of the job
What might I be doing as a Chaplaincy Volunteer?
Visit wards, meet patients, being there for patients and offering a listening ear or prayer support as appropriate.
Pass on any requests (with the specific permission of a patient) where patients indicate particular spiritual and religious needs of all faiths to the chaplains for visits.
Provide information about pastoral and spiritual care or chaplaincy services to patients.
Administer Holy Communion where authorised to do so by the sponsoring Christian denomination, and by agreement with the Lead Chaplain.
Help the Team on special events, such as open days, cultural celebrations and memorial services.
Participate in appropriate training required by the Trust, the Voluntary Services Department and the respective area.
Volunteers cannot replace the role of a paid employee.
