Main duties of the job
o To contribute alongside the consultant body to an excellent standard of care covering the full range of specialist diagnosis, treatment and management of patients requiring anaesthetic services.o To contribute to safety and quality initiatives and improvement projects being undertaken in the trust.o To supervise and support resident doctors, clinical fellows and specialty doctors. o To undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients and the administration of the department.o To contribute and support departmental meetings.o To fully comply with requirements for annual appraisal and job planning and maintain an up -to-date mandatory training record.

Knowledge and Qualifications Essential
Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practise On GMC Specialist Register for anaesthesia or within 6 months of attainment of CCT in anaesthesia at date of interview FRCA or equivalent anaesthetic experience

Clinical Experience Essential
Completed a recognised period of training leading to a CCT in anaesthesia or has gained equivalent experience Experience in anaesthesia for major surgical procedures including major laparoscopic surgery 6 months experience working in the NHS or equivalent Experience of multidisciplinary pre-assessment and pre-operative preparation of complex patients Evidence of commitment to service improvement / clinical excellence Broad range of experience specifically in 'outside areas' including paediatric radiotherapy and nuclear medicine, CT, endoscopy
Clinical Skills Essential
