Our highly regarded Dorset Steps to Wellbeing services are recruiting for the North Dorset and Purbeck and East Dorset Localities.

We are looking for an individual with energy, enthusiasm, and a high level of skill and experience. All staff will work as part of a team and receive regular clinical supervision. We have a vacancy in the Purbeck and East Dorset area. The successful candidate will offer a combination of face-to-face, and online therapy. To meet service needs, there will be an expectation to work at least one evening per week until 20:00.

We are recruiting for a fixed term qualified High Intensity CBT Therapist for the Purbeck and East Dorset Area.

Main duties of the job

You will provide one-to-one high-intensity CBT within a stepped care model for adults with common mental health problems, including depression and a range of anxiety disorders.

Good administrative, time management, and communication skills are essential. Experience of working within the NHS or a similar organisation is highly desirable.

Person Specification

Educational Requirements/Qualifications Essential

Qualification from High Intensity IAPT Course [Post Graduate Diploma] Accreditation with appropriate professional body (HPC, BABCP).

Desirable

Significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and demonstrating the competences as required. A recorded/registered qualification in one of- nursing, social work, occupational therapy or a psychological therapy plus further post graduate qualification training in CBT A recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical psychology

Personal Qualities and Aptitudes Essential

High level of enthusiasm, motivation, and self-reflection. Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships Ability to use clinical supervision and case management positively and effectively An ability to work under pressure advocate for individual rights or autonomy and maintain appropriate confidentiality. The ability and skills to engage and foster good professional relationships with other healthcare professionals

Ability to drive with access to transport to meet service requirements

Skills / Experience / Knowledge base Essential

Demonstrated experience of working in mental health services with clients who present with a range of mental health issues and degrees of complexity. Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets Ability to manage own caseload and time Well developed computer/digital skills and an ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients their families/carers and other professional colleagues. Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients Demonstrates and understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary care. Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems. Demonstrates and understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post.
