Job summary Minehead Hospital boasts state of the art facilities in a fabulous rural location. We have 19 inpatient beds set out as single rooms and two four bed bays. Each room has an ensuite and overhead hoist system. All modern facilities. We have a specially designed room for end-of-life care. We offer rehabilitation and subacute medical intervention.We are situated on the coast in beautiful West Somerset, we offer excellent staff facilities including staff dining room with a South facing balcony, large free staff car park and modern changing rooms.We are looking for registered nurses with experience of working in a hospital environment to join this established team. Development and training within this role will be offered. There is an expectation that hours are worked flexibly which includes nights and weekends.Applications are invited from enthusiastic, dynamic and forward-thinking professionals who have experience of working in a team. With the patient at the centre of all you do, you will require good communication skills, be assertive and provide a high standard of nursing care with the support of the ward Sister.We are confident that once you've seen what we can offer you won't want to leave - informal visits/chats always welcome.
Main duties of the job To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting the philosophy of care.To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care
