Are you a band 6 Dietitian looking to develop or broaden your skills or looking for part time hours, a band 5 Dietitian looking for your first promotion?
The Dietetic Team consists of 26 Dietitians with 6 Dietetic Support Staff providing a service to both acute, paediatric (both diabetic and general paediatrics), and community settings and therefore there is opportunity to work alongside these teams. We are also supported by secretarial and administrative staff. You will have access to regular supervision and have opportunities to undertake continuing professional development through work shadowing, tutorials and courses as identified by your training needs and objectives.
We are a well- recognised department for student training in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire and you will have an active role in supporting this programme. The trust is also committed with AHP research and has recently gained resource to support this within the trust.
We are currently recruiting two part time posts within our Dietetic service; Mental Health and Diabetes. We would be happy to consider applications for an individual to cover both posts to make a full time position, You wouldn't need to apply for both but please outline if this is of interest within your supporting information.
Main duties of the job
A range of skills is required for this post, including excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a busy workload. The post-holder should be someone who enjoys working within a team and is eager to provide support to others.
You will manage a caseload diabetic dietetic outpatients working as the lead Diabetes Dietitian covering type 1 complex Diabetes outpatient caseload (including for example carbohydrate counting, insulin adjustment, insulin pumps as well as care for complex type 2 patients and antenatal diabetic patients. You would be working as part of the multidisciplinary team in the diabetes centre as well as being part of the wider dietetic team and would also be involved in delivering DAFNE training. Training will be given if not already DAFNE trained.
You will also benefit from working with other specialist dietitians as well as being responsible for supervision of band 5 rotational and student Dietitians

Qualifications Essential
Degree / Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics Registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Desirable
Member of British Dietetic Association Member of the BDA Paediatric specialist group Leadership qualifications e.g. LEO and Supervisory Skills Evidence of other post registration education and training e.g. BDA paediatric MSc Modules 1-5 Training in Safeguarding Children Full UK Driving licence
Experience Essential
Significant Post-Registration experience in a range of clinical areas Portfolio of evidence of CPD Experience of working within Paediatric Dietetics and/or mental health, (adult or paediatric) Experience of working with enteral nutrition Experience of delivering nutrition education and training to public and health care professionals
Desirable
Experience of working in eating disorders
Knowledge Essential
