Job summary
We are seeking motivated individuals to join the Radiology Department at University Hospital Birmingham, for the following position. The successful candidate must be able to work the following shift pattern.
*Booking Coordinator based at BHH/WHH
*Shift pattern to be a combination of 8-4 - 9-5 hours rotational.
*Rotational weekend/Bank holiday Working required.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for individuals with experience in booking appointments, understanding electronic diary and waiting lists, work within deadlines and can use your own initiative. Accuracy and attention to details are paramount. Candidates should be confident in prioritising their workload and should have experience in NHS clinical systems such as CRIS and Oceano and excellent time management and communication skills as well as working within a team.
You will be liaising with staff, patients and external agencies, such as GP's, Dentists etc. Provide patients with support, non-clinical advice and information on a range of issues including appointment queries.
Notify patients of new or changes to appointments. Be sympathetic and sensitive to the requirements of staff, patients and other service users when communicating by telephone or face to face, including dealing with a difficult situation, e.g. aggressive or demanding behaviour, escalating conflict situations where necessary.

Qualifications Essential
*Good general Education (E.g. GSCE English and Maths A-C, GCSE Level 9-4) *Business Administrative NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in an administrative role
Experience Essential
*Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience *Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook) *Experience of using IT systems *Experience of working in a busy environment
Desirable
*Experience of working in healthcare
