Join Our Exceptional Older Persons Assessment Unit Team; Experienced Healthcare Support Worker Wanted
Are you a passionate and skilled Healthcare Support Worker looking to take the next step in your career? A unique opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic and highly regarded team within the 48-bedded Older Persons Assessment Unit at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, where we deliver expert, patient-centred care to the older population in their acute phase of illness.
We are seeking an experienced HCSW who brings compassion, initiative, and strong clinical skills to the role. You'll be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, playing a vital role in delivering outstanding care and making a real difference to patient outcomes.
What We're Looking For: Completion of the National Care Certificate , Confident and competent in, ECG recording, Venepuncture and Cannulation, Experience with Frailty Patients , A team player with excellent communication and time management skills
You'll need to be flexible and able to work a rotational shift pattern, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

This post is being advertised as a Band 3, however applicants that do not meet the required care certificate competencies will initially be employed as a Band 2. Applicants who hold a care certificate accreditation will start in post at Band 3.
Main duties of the job
We are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week - therefore, we require you to be fullyflexible across all shift patterns, including weekdays, weekends, nights and bank holidays.
As part of the selection process you will be required to complete a numeracy and literacy assessment alongside an interview.

Qualifications Essential
Good standard of general education including numeracy and literacy GCSE Completion of the National Care Certificate
Desirable
NVQ level 3 in care
Experience Essential
Experience working with patients as a HCSW Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team Experience working with with elderly patients
Technical skills Essential
Willingness to undertake venepuncture and cannulation Willingness to take ECGs
Knowledge Essential
Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional
