Job summary
The post holder will support the development, progression and achievement of pre-registration student nurses and student nursing associates across the Trust. This includes ensuring clear, robust and consistent processes are in place to support learning, supervision, assessment and progression in clinical practice.
Working in partnership with clinical teams and Approved Education Institutions (AEIs), the post holder will provide expert advice, support and training to staff undertaking Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor roles, including delivery of Student Supervision, Support and Assessment (SSSA) training in line with NMC requirements.
The post holder will lead and contribute to the recruitment and selection of pre-registration student nurse cohorts in collaboration with university partners, and work with education, workforce and operational colleagues to support the development and effective use of clinical placement capacity, ensuring safe, high-quality learning environments.
Acting as a key professional point of contact for pre-registration learners, the post holder will support learner experience, escalation of concerns and effective engagement with practice learning processes. The role will also contribute to the management and continuous improvement of the learning experience for pre- and post-registration nurses, including promotion of learner feedback and participation in quality assurance activities such as the National Education and Training Survey (NETS).
Main duties of the job
To support the development of student nurses/ during pre-registration nurse training. This will involve ensuring clear processes are established to support their development and progress throughout the programme. To lead on the recruitment and selection of student cohorts in partnership with university partners. Lead. the increase of the clinical placement capacity with colleagues to ensure a quality learning experience. To act a point of contact in the organisation for pre-registration student learners To support the Trust with the management of the learning experience for pre and post registration nurses working within the Trust, encouraging and promoting the National education and training survey to learners
