Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dietitian to join our dietetic team to expand their skills in the area of community dietetics. We require a motivated and enthusiastic dietitian with a passion for working in the community. Good clinical skills are required and knowledge of a wide variety of clinical conditions seen in the community. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work well as part of the dietetic team.
The post is permanent, based in Whitehaven and you will be part of a well-established community dietetic team along with the wider dietetic department to ensure delivery of a high quality service across North Cumbria and professional support.
The post includes delivering care to patients of all ages referred by a range of health care professionals and includes a caseload of enteral feeding patients with support from an enteral nurse specialist.
Professional development is given a high priority and there are ongoing educational opportunities as well as practice supervision. The department trains student dietitians on P1, P2 and P3 placements from a number of universities in the North. IT and secretarial support is available.
This post is ideal for either a Band 6 dietitian looking for a career change or we would also consider a Band 5 role for someone ready to take the next step in their career while enjoying the quality of life on offer in North Cumbria and the Lake District.
Main duties of the job
Provide a comprehensive clinical and educational community dietetic service within the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC). Contribute to the development of the Nutrition & Dietetic service as a member of the Dietetic team.
To act as a specialist source of advice and expertise, in the management of the nutritional wellbeing of patients, such as nutritional support, food allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, home enteral feeding, weight management.
You will be part of a friendly, committed and supportive dietetic department of 22 dietitians across North Cumbria (acute, community and paediatrics) providing a quality service through evidence based practice.
