The Cardiology Unit Ward A11 are looking for a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our busy 27-bedded cardiology unit. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated team delivering high-quality care to patients with a range of cardiac conditions.
As a health care worker you will be expected to work within our dedicated multi-disciplinary teams and be fully involved in an individual's care from admission to discharge, assisting with patient hygiene and dressing, feeding, maintaining dignity and respect, keeping the environment clean and tidy and keeping good documentation.
In addition our health care workers are expected to support the registered staff nurses in meeting the required targets both at local and national level.
The post holder is required to undertake training to enable them to carry out a wide range of tasks in support of clinical professionals, including activities directly related to patient care.
In return, you will be supported by an experienced team, with opportunities for development and training within a specialist cardiology setting.
Main duties of the job
Support patients with all aspects of daily living, ensuring dignity, comfort, and safety at all times Assist the nursing team with clinical duties including physiological observations (e.g. blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation) Undertake venepuncture and ECG recording (training can be provided if required) Maintain accurate documentation and report any concerns to the registered nursing staff Contribute to a clean, safe, and supportive ward environment

Education & Qualifications Essential
Completed the National Care Certificate Functional skills minimum Level 2 Maths and English or GCSE equivalent or working towards. Functional skills minimum Level 2 Maths and English or GCSE equivalent or working towards. Working towards or prepared to work towards obtaining an Apprenticeship in Clinical Healthcare.
Knowledge Essential

Good communication skills (written and verbal). Experience Essential
Experience working in a healthcare setting. Worked at a band 2 Health Care Assistant level or equivalent Experience of working with the multidisciplinary team. Experience of caring for patients.

Experience of support and supervision of junior staff Experience of supporting Quality Improvement /audits / research and development activities
