We are a small & friendly Cardiac Physiology department, led by a Consultant Clinical Scientist, striving to deliver best practice care. A unique opportunity has arisen to lead our Non-Invasive Cardiology Service in the next phase of our journey. We are seeking a transformational and forward thinking leader to shape our Non-Invasive Cardiology Service in line with national guidance and local needs. You will deliver strong, visible and empathetic leadership to your team.We are looking for an experienced, talented and driven Cardiac Physiologist/Scientist. You will have the relevant knowledge and expertise to lead a team of approximately 20 staff from Band 2 to Band 7. You must be experienced in people management, wellbeing and HR policies. You will have a proven track record in managing change, be open to new ideas and able to inspire others. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Physiologist to step into a challenging but rewarding management role and have direct influence in developing both the workforce & cardiology services.
Main duties of the job
This is a leadership role and you will be responsible for the effective management, organisation and development of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Service and workforce on a day-to-day basis. This will involve leading the implementation of services in a community setting. You will act as a positive role model with a can-do attitude. You will have a passion for staff training & development and will have overall responsibility for student education across all training routes.
You must be self-motivated, flexible and conscientious to maintain the highest possible standards. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills to motivate the team towards continuous service improvement. A good understanding of robust governance measures and clinical audit is required. HCPC registration is expected at this level and candidates must achieve this within 12months of appointment if not held already.
The successful candidate must work collaboratively with the other service leads for a cohesive approach to developing Cardiac Physiology Services as a whole. Our goal is to achieve recognised departmental accreditation via IQIPS and you will spearhead this project. As the Band 8A Non-Invasive Cardiology Lead you will:

Wide, thorough and up-to-date specialist level knowledge across the full range of cardiac physiology investigations High level knowledge of non-invasive cardiology and treatment plans in line with evidence based practice Specialist and technical knowledge of Non-Invasive Cardiology equipment e.g. Ambulatory Monitoring Analyser, Exercise Treadmill Knowledge of professional standards in keeping with professional registration (e.g. HCPC/ AHCS) Knowledge of NHS Policies, practices and procedures including clinical governance Knowledge of IQIPs and departmental accreditation
