There is an exciting opportunity for the right candidates to join our team to carry out a varied and challenging role as an MDT Co-ordinator. Cancer Services provides support to selected MDT teams within the organisation, tracking and monitoring patient's treatment pathways to help deliver optimal pathways and care to patients.

We are looking for two candidates to cover a vacancy of 1.8 WTE, working 22.5 to 37.5 hours s a week over 3 or 5 days on a Fixed Term Contract of 18 months.

Main duties of the job

The MDT Co-ordinators provide administrative support to the Cancer Multidisciplinary Teams meetings as well as recording, tracking and collecting data on all patients with suspected or confirmed malignancy and all associated treatments.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Three GCSE's (or equivalent) level 'C' Maths and English. Relevant IT qualification specific to post i.e ECDL, or relevant experience. Understanding Cancer' E learning Certificates

Desirable

NVQ 3 Business Admin/IT or equivalent, AMSPAR or RSA 3 Word Processing

Experience Essential

NHS Office experience Meeting note taking Experience of Microsoft Office including word, excel and access Experience communicating effectively with staff of different disciplines Relevant experience in a Cancer MDT department. Experience of managing PTL's, tracking patients and using escalation policies and processes. Office experience in acute setting

Desirable

Cancer breach analysis and RCAs. Experience using the Cancer Register, PAS, Maxims, CRIS, Aria, and Ultra, Plus eCare once live. Minute taking/ Live typing in meetings Managing Tertiary Cancer pathways and shared tracking and data responsibilities.

Knowledge Essential

Ability to work on own initiative with guidance available from immediate supervisor Evidence of time management skills Ability to work within prescribed Trust Policies and timescales as directed by management Current knowledge and understanding of the International TNM staging classifications Ability to provide expert knowledge to hospital teams on cancer pathways, systems and data. Knowledge of cancer patient pathways.

Desirable

Ability to participate in and contribute to improving departmental work processes and procedures Knowledge of current National Cancer audits and Get it Right First Time (GIRFT) reviews relating to cancer. Knowledge or module in medical terminology

Disposition Essential

Professional manner and self-motivated. Able to manage own workload and work as part of a team. Provide cover for other members of staff as directed by the Management team. Evidence of own development and complete relevant training or refresher sessions to maintain skills required for the role.

Desirable

Evidence of managing own workload and meeting deadlines and outcomes set out by line manager.
