Job summary

Resilience Manager - Band 7

Provide professional support and advice on all Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity issues within NCIC. Deputise for the Head of Corporate Resilience & Safety within the Trust and with Partner organisations. Develop, coordinate and maintain highly complex policies and plans in relation to emergency response and business continuity. Develop, provide and coordinate internal and where appropriate, multi-agency training of Directors, Managers and Clinicians in all aspects related to Pandemic Flu, Major Incident Planning & Response and Business Continuity. Ensure the Trust fulfils its obligations in relation to The Civil Contingency Act (2004) and the NHS Core Standards for Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response

Main duties of the job

Employ the highest standards of skills and knowledge in interpretation of complex national guidance and statutory legislation on emergency planning and business continuity, reporting the implications and making recommendation to the Head of Resilience and Corporate safety

Develop and lead on the implementation of plans and procedures for emergency response and business continuity.

Act as the Pandemic Co Coordinator.

Lead the risk assessment and analysis process in relation to Flu and Emergency Preparedness.

Provide specialist advice in relation to Pandemic flu planning, emergency planning and business continuity.

Maintain appropriate skills for the role of Resilience Manager.

Lead Emergency Planning and undertake root cause analysis in relation to Major Incident Response and invocation of business continuity.

Develop emergency and business continuity plans in conjunction with Business Managers and Clinical Leads

Lead the validation, testing and exercising of Divisional and Corporate plans

Liaise and negotiate with external partners at local, regional and national levels in achieving pandemic and Emergency Preparedness. .

Ensure Health and Safety legislation relevant to post is adhered to and all appropriate equipment is resourced and training implemented and recorded.

Qualifications Essential

Masters Qualification or Equivalent Diploma in Health Emergency Planning or working towards

Desirable

Certificate in Management or above Certificate in risk management IOSH/NEBOSH certificates in managing safely Major Incident Management Training

Experience Essential

Recent Managerial/Leadership Role Involvement in Healthcare standars Developing and delivering training Developing and Implementing Policies and Plans Working in Emergency Planning/Resilience within a large Organisation Drafting Reports & Briefing Papers Experience of managing risks, mitigation and reporting
