Job summary
We are expanding our integrated sexual health service and are seeking GPs with a specialist interest in either Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) or Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH). You will start in your area of strength and develop complementary skills in the other domain over time, with structured supervision and CPD consistent with the GPwER model.
Main duties of the job
Provide patient-centred assessment, diagnosis and management of sexual and reproductive health needs in integrated clinics.
Deliver contraception care; if competent, fit/remove implants and IUDs (or train to competence).
Undertake STI screening, treatment and follow-up, with clear referral routes to specialist teams.
Work within a multidisciplinary team (consultants in GU/HIV and SRH, nurses, health advisers).
Safeguarding: identify and escalate concerns; assess PEPSE where relevant.
Contribute to audit, clinical governance and quality improvement.

Qualifications Essential
GMC-registered GP with licence to practise
Desirable
FSRH qualifications (e.g., DFSRH; Letters of Competence in IUT and/or SDI) or equivalent competence STI Foundation (STIF - BASHH/FSRH) theory and/or competency programme, or willingness to complete
Knowledge and Experience Essential
Demonstrable interest or experience in GUM or SRH and motivation to develop complementary skills. Knowledge of STI diagnosis/treatment pathways and contraception options; strong safeguarding awareness
Desirable
Experience providing LARC procedures and immediate management of complications Participation in audit/quality improvement and service development
Skilla and Aptitudes Essential
Effective MDT working, communication skills and ability to manage complex presentations Accurate record-keeping, results management and adherence to clinical protocols/guidelines
