Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and highly dynamic Paediatric nurse to join our respiratory specialist nursing team. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and the successful applicant will be expected to provide high levels of care to the child/adolescent and family. Experience in nursing children with medical conditions is preferable. Experience at band 6 is required.
This role encompasses three specialities: asthma, allergy, and cystic fibrosis. The post holder will be required to work between Kings Mill Hospital and Newark. You will manage a cohort of asthma patients in both nurse-led and consultant clinics, performing spirometry and FENO testing, as well as developing and monitoring asthma plans.
You will also be involved in audit and research, assist in leading a small team, participate in network meetings, and provide education to medical and nursing staff within the unit to improve quality and enhance care delivery.
Care delivered will include patient assessment, planning and implementing specialist care, and providing advice, support, and education in collaboration with the wider MDT, including child protection/safeguarding teams.
You will support colleagues at Nottingham University Hospital to ensure we offer support and guidance for children local to Sherwood Forest Hospitals in managing their needs around cystic fibrosis.
