Symphony are recruiting for a committed and caring Healthcare Assistants to join our dynamic, patient-centred teams at Symphony North (Burnham on Sea, Berrow and Highbridge Medical Centres) and Burnham on Sea War Memorial Hospital (MIU) in Somerset.
You'll be a confident, able to independently support and manage patients, while working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, patient focused care.

Main duties of the job
Working under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
The post-holder will also work within the Minor Injuries Unit, supporting the Emergency Care Practitioner and Primary Care Practitioner in the assessment and management of patients presenting with minor injuries and urgent primary care needs. The Healthcare Assistant will assist with clinical observations, wound care, patient preparation and general support to ensure safe, effective and timely patient care in accordance with practice protocols and scope of practice.

Experience Essential
Previous experience of working as an HCA or equivalent Can carry out clinical, technical, scientific or administrative duties according to established protocols or procedures, or systems of work. Excellent communication, negotiation, and change management skills Experience of working autonomously. Experience of Infection and Prevention Control Management. New patient health checks BMI, Urinalysis ECG recording INR monitoring using Coagucheck and INR Star To undertake Doppler testing Blood Pressure Monitoring following practice hypertension guidelines, issue HBPM in accordance with practice policy Phlebotomy including perform annual blood tests, BP, BMI, ACR as requested for patients with chronic diseases Urinalysis MSU, ACR in accordance with practice policy Wound Care suture removal in accordance with practice policy, following training Weight Management Chaperoning duties Administer influenza vaccines according to PSD, following training Administer B12 injections according to PSD To undertake Spirometry for GP to interpret results
