About this role
Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our ever-expanding Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit.
You'll be part of a fantastic, supportive team of nurses and nursing support workers, working in a busy, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional development and gaining valuable experience in a dynamic clinical setting.
Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) enables adult patients with common medical and surgical conditions to be assessed, diagnosed and treated on the same day. This should enable the patient to then 'sleep at home in their own bed' and avoid unnecessary hospital admission.
Patients are referred to SDEC via their GP, Paramedics (Welsh Ambulance Service), Accident and Emergency (A&E), or via another route such as an outpatient clinic or community specialist team.
We welcome interested candidates to come and have a look around and meet the team.
The post covers 7 days a week. There will be an expectation for rotational working across our acute medical team in the Adult Clinical Decisions Unit (ACDU).
Main duties of the job
As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within our Same Day Emergency Care Unit. You will support the smooth running of the unit while working as part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team.
