Job summary
John Tasker House & Felsted Surgeries have a vacancy for a dispenser to join our dispensary team, working across both our sites, providing services for our patients in the locality. The position is up to full time - specific hours to be discussed at interview.
Main duties of the job Main duties of the job
Process all relevant prescriptions and repeat prescriptions as authorised by GPs and prescribing nurses Collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient Process dossette boxes Manage ordering stock and stock control Answer and deal with dispensary phone enquiries Handle administrative queries Sort and dispose of unwanted/returned medication Any other duties to assist in the smooth day to day running of the dispensary and surgery as directed by the either the dispensary manager or practice manager
About us
The practice has a main surgery in the centre of Dunmow and a branch surgery in nearby Felsted. Our core opening hours are 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Fridays. Additionally, the practice is open for extended access appointments on some evenings and some Saturdays.
We are a friendly practice who have a values-based approach to recruitment. Our teams include a range of GPs, nurses, allied healthcare professionals and a full complement of administrative and reception staff.

Qualifications Essential
Diploma Level 2 Dispensary or equivalent Pharmacy Services qualification
Experience Essential
Excellent knowledge regarding medication within a clinical setting Understanding and experience of working as a dispenser in a GP surgery A proactive approach to learning and developing new skills Attention to detail and being able to follow instructions from line management, practice manager The ability to be adaptable and flexible in your approach Excellent patient facing inter-personal communication skills
