About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has come up for a qualified diagnostic radiographer to join the MRI team at St Mary's hospital - Paddington, London. We are looking to recruit a Band 6 substantive radiographer for a full time MRI post.

St Mary's has recently installed the latest in AI reconstruction technology onto 3 of our 4 GE MRI scanners. We are therefore looking for fresh and dynamic individuals to join the team to integrate and further develop this service with the latest protocol optimisation.

In this MRI post, you can expect to perform a diverse range of diagnostic MR procedures for both adults and pediatrics patients in inpatient, outpatient and major trauma settings.

You should be flexible with your approach to work, forward thinking, enthusiastic, motivated person who share our vision for excellent patient care

Main duties of the job

To assist in the provision of an efficient MRI service To perform MRI procedures according to Trust, Departmental and statutory regulations To work as part of a professional radiography team providing a high quality diagnostic service To maintain a sensitive and person-centric approach to our patients To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development To maintain a safe working environment within the MRI department To adhere to Trust values

Person Specification

Education Essential

BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent HCPC registration

Desirable

Post-Graduate Study

Experience Essential

Previous cross-sectional imaging Up to date knowledge of general imaging techniques Experience of working unsupervised Awareness of clinical governance issue in relation to patient care

Previous MRI experience

Skills Essential

Ability to work as part of a team Ability to teach and mentor students, more junior staff and new members of staff Ability to cope with work pressures and manage time effectively Ability to make prompt decisions based on knowledge, experience and circumstances
