Part time post - 32 hours per week available

The Medical Directorate Support Service are looking for a dynamic, friendly and organised administration assistant to work within the Medical Directorate Team based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. You will be required to work within a small team to provide a comprehensive administration service supporting the Medical Directorate function and teams.

You will be required to work across the different areas to provide a comprehensive administration service supporting the portfolios across the medical directorate.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

NVQ 3 in administration or equivalent.

Experience Essential

Previous administrative experience in a customer focused organisation. Proven experience of working as part of a team. Operating word processing and computer packages.

Desirable

Experience in planning, organising and servicing meetings, including Minute Taking.

Knowledge Essential

Continuing professional development with portfolio. Awareness of Equality issues. Knowledge of working time regulations Knowledge of Data Protection legislation Use of Outlook to arrange and manage multiple dairies. Experience of admin and clerical role Customer services experience Proficient in IT / Microsoft packages Experience of exporting, collating, analysing and drafting information into presentable formats

Desirable

Knowledge of regulatory functions related to doctors including Junior Doctor Contract

Skills Essential

Accurate typing skills Approachable, ability to work as part of a team Work to processes and task management prioritation Ability to work accurately, prepare routine written correspondence Capability to build and maintain effective relationships having effective communication and interpersonal skills Advanced IT skills including proven abilities in using Microsoft Office Competence to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines Demonstrate good attention to detail Exhibit excellent organisational skills Able to maintain a professional manner.
