Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and flexible Support Secretary to join the Radiology Admin Team at Kettering General Hospital.
To provide efficient and effective secretarial support to the Radiology Department, in core functions associated with the smooth running of the clinical administration .
Main duties of the job
Support the Radiology Department in handling patient, GP and general enquiries as instructed.
Undertake general duties to support Consultants, Office Manager and Clerical and Appointments Team as and when required.
Assist Office Manager in maintaining a robust outsourcing of reports system including creating and maintaining data bases.
Assist with the booking of Cardiac CT & MRI appointments.
Assist with the booking of CT Colonoscopy appointments.
To ensure that all record keeping is accurate and legible and maintains patient confidentiality according to Trust Policy and that the data protection act is adhered to.
To provide P.A support to Radiology Managers and Clinical Director, assisting with meeting invites, agendas and minute taking.

Liase with key contacts regarding enquiries from internal and external sources to resolve any problems, queries or complaints where appropriate.
Process information through established trust systems and procedures.
Support the Radiology Department in handling patient, GP and other general enquiries as instructed and providing cover during annual leave etc.
Undertake general duties to support Consultants, Office Manager and Clerical and Appointments Team as and when required.

Qualifications Essential
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent IT Skills - Microsoft Word & Office
Desirable
NVQ Level 2 Business Administration or equivalent experience
Knowledge Essential
Knowledge of basic medical terminology IT literate Experience of communicating with staff at all levels Minute taking/typing
Desirable
2 years clerical/administrative experience in the NHS. Experience of working within hospital -based appointments/admissions setting. Knowledge of Hospital computer systems
