About this role

Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and committed candidate to apply for this Band 7 Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) post. Applicants must have current BABCP registration with full practitioner accreditation. The successful applicant will work within CAMHS Outpatients.

Our CAMHS service includes City and County Outpatient teams and specialist teams for adolescent inpatient care, learning disabilities, primary mental health, eating disorders, crisis services, lookedafter and adopted children, young offenders, homeless young people and paediatric psychology.

The post holder will work in the generic CAMHS outpatient team, offering mental health assessment and intervention to children and young people with moderate to severe difficulties. They will be passionate about addressing health inequalities and creative in improving access for vulnerable groups, supporting strategic objectives to embed highquality, evidencebased interventions.

The role includes direct work with children, young people and families, and supporting CBT approaches across pathways through staff training and supervision.

Main duties of the job The post holder will work as a Specialist Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist within psychological therapy & psychology services in CAMHS and across care pathways. They will provide a comprehensive, highly specialist CBT service to young people with complex difficulties for which CBT is clinically effective. This includes working with children & adolescents presenting with severe or treatmentresistant disorders and coexisting conditions. The role requires using a broad theoretical knowledge base to deliver specialist CBT assessments, formulations & skilled interventions. The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, managing a caseload under clinical & case management supervision. Offering consultation/guidance to other mental health professionals, treatment pathways & community colleagues, contribute to the development of CBT practice informed by advances in treatment, theory & research. Role requires inperson attendance at clinics, meetings, assessments & liaison with other professionals, including MDT forums such as STRAT or childinneed meetings. Some hybrid working may be available in line with LPTs flexible working agreement. Post holder must maintain highly specialist CBT knowledge & skills and hold BABCP accreditation. Working across language & cultural barriers, using interpreters when required & be committed to equal opportunities. Role involves working remotely when necessary, delivering care from bases, patients homes, in outdoors & LPT clincs.
