Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a business manager to support with managing our admin service and supporting the wider management team. The admin team supports the All Age Disability service (AAD) in Wirral with a range of tasks including telephony, minuting of governance and safeguarding meetings, inputting onto the social care data base system, overseeing petty cash, ordering, and providing general governance support to the management team. As Business Manager who will provide direct management oversight to our admin colleagues, as well as supporting with the general governance structures of AAD and our contract management process. Some experience of overseeing projects and managing change would also be beneficial.

Main duties of the job

The business manager role involves providing direct management oversight to two team leaders who in turn have a small number of support staff under them. The role is based across two sites (in Leasowe and Birkenhead) and the office base can be flexible. You will oversee all support that your team needs, prioritise workflow, attend governance meetings and support with some wider project work in the service. Duties include:

Oversee and manager the business support team

Provide support to the management team in terms of governance structures, report writing etc

Oversee the budget of the service and the management of petty cash

Co-ordinate responses to complaints, compliments and incidents

Oversee the co-ordination of minute taking

Support the management team with contract compliance and performance management

Provide some additional support with service development and improvement projects as required.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Degree in Business Administration or equivalent level of business experience Computer qualification ECDL or equivalent level of experience

Desirable

Finance or Budget Management Qualification PRINCE2

Knowledge and Expertise Essential

Knowledge of current issues within health/social services setting Understanding of integrated governance arrangements within an NHS setting Knowledge to interrogate systems to provide sound performance management data

Desirable

Evidence of continued professional development and working at high managerial level

Experience Essential

2 years managerial experience within a NHS/Public Organisation working within a multi-disciplinary setting with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external Experience of providing supervision/mentoring to groups of staff Experience of establishing effective systems for performance management Experience of preparing agenda and the production of clear and concise minutes

Desirable

Experience of service user involvement Experience of the recruitment and deployment of staff resources including change management processes
