Salary: £75,000 - 85,000 per year
Requirements: 5+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, with deep Azure expertise, including at least 2 years leading cloud transformation rather than migration alone.Strong Infrastructure as Code skills (Terraform preferred, or Bicep/ARM), Azure DevOps or CI/CD pipeline design, and PowerShell or Python scripting.Broad Azure knowledge across PaaS, AKS and containers, networking (vWAN, Private Endpoints, Front Door, Application Gateway), and identity and security (Entra ID, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud).Experience with cloud-native monitoring and observability tools, including Azure Monitor, Application Insights and Log Analytics, and a grounding in DevOps/SRE practices.Experience supporting cloud cost optimisation and governance alongside Finance, Procurement or a FinOps function.Proven people leadership, with the ability to explain cloud concepts to traditional IT teams and present confidently to stakeholders.Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) certification or equivalent experience.Desirable: AZ-400, AZ-500, FinOps Certified Practitioner, CKA/CKAD or Terraform Associate certifications; healthcare or other regulated-industry experience, including NHS DSP Toolkit or GDPR; and exposure to AWS or GCP. Responsibilities: Own the availability, performance and resilience of Azure services, including monitoring, incident and problem management, backup, disaster recovery and resilience testing.Modernise suitable lift-and-shift workloads towards PaaS, serverless and containers where there is a clear operational, security or business benefit.Build landing-zone standards, reusable Infrastructure as Code patterns and deployment pipelines, and establish Terraform, GitOps and automation-first delivery.Own Azure governance, including management groups, policy-as-code, tagging, access and guardrails, and work with Security on zero-trust and healthcare regulatory requirements.Partner with FinOps and Finance on cloud consumption insights, right-sizing, reservations and savings plans.Lead and develop a team of 8+ through the shift to cloud-native operations, using learning plans, hands-on labs and certification roadmaps.Manage cloud suppliers. We are partnering with a leading European business whose technology supports individuals across the continent. This is a Cloud Platform / Infrastructure Manager role reporting to the Director of Infrastructure & Operations, with a mandate to modernise an Azure estate following a lift-and-shift migration while maintaining the operational stability on which patient-facing services depend. The role is based in Derbyshire (preferred) or London, with hybrid working requiring 1–2 days a week in the office. The salary is £75,000–£85,000 plus benefits.
