About this role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Life Skills and Progression lecturer to join the prison-based education team at HMP Long Lartin for 2 days a week (Wednesday & Thursday).
The suitable candidate will be delivering courses across multiple levels from Entry 3 to level 3 and covering subjects such as Peer mentoring, Education and Training, Health and Wellbeing and Financial Awareness.
We are seeking a creative and inspiring tutor who can deliver engaging classes to learners who are based within prison and have struggled to engage with courses in the past. As a lecturer, you will be supporting learners to progress and achieve courses and qualifications and to inspire them to take up further education and employment opportunities within the prison. You will not only help them to achieve qualifications but also gain confidence and skills they can apply to employment upon release, or to other areas within education or the prison.
MK College Group works to reduce re-offending by providing learners with opportunities to learn and develop skills. We would like you to be part of the learner’s journey, providing them with a positive learning experience. HMP Elmley is a local remand prison for adult males with a vibrant and inspiring education department and team supporting learners to engage and succeed in learning.
If you are as passionate as we are about reducing re-offending and ensuring learners have a positive learning experience, this is a fantastic opportunity for you!
