Wage Range: $28.80 - $29.69 per hour (start rate is non-negotiable and in accordance to collective agreement requirements)
Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week
Shifts: 1500-2300, Monday-Friday, Evenings
Status: Temporary Full-Time (Up to 6 Months Contract)

Duties
As a member of the Perioperative Services team, the Perioperative Room Attendant performs direct and indirect patient care functions, including:
Performing service functions in support of Perioperative Services i.e. stocking supplies; performing direct patient assistance functionsPerforming transport functions; performing environmental support and maintenance services within the Perioperative Services unit and adjacent work settingsPerforming cross-functional duties; performing other assigned tasks and duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned for the shift. Completion of Grade XI or recognized equivalentOne (1) year experience in a related patient care capacityAbility to speak, read, write and comprehend the English languageKnowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislationKnowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S.)Knowledge of applicable Hospital and departmental policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols and practices.Knowledge of procedures for handling contaminated materialsStandard First Aid/ Basic Rescuer Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.) certification an assetAbility to set-up and maintain the equipment, tools and instruments common to the Operating Room environment, within scope of responsibilityMust have the ability to work collaboratively as an active participant with others in assisting with the delivery of the care to surgical patientsDemonstrated ability to work in a team environmentAbility to perform responsibilities in a courteous mannerMust be flexible to work all shiftsPhysically capable of performing the daily activities associated with patient care Why join UHN?
