Senior Payroll Officer£45,000 | Hybrid | Multi-Site Organisation We are exclusively partnering with a growing, multi-site organisation to recruit a Senior Payroll Officer to join their established finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop towards a Payroll Manager position.
You will take ownership of the payroll process for a workforce of approximately 300-500 employees, with headcount expected to continue increasing. Working closely with the wider finance and HR teams, you will ensure payroll is processed accurately and efficiently while helping to develop and improve processes as the organisation grows.
The Role Full responsibility for the end-to-end monthly payroll processManaging payroll for approximately 300-500 employees across multiple sitesProcessing payroll accurately and within strict deadlinesUsing Sage Payroll to manage and process payrollEnsuring compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory requirementsManaging starters, leavers, changes, deductions and adjustmentsCompleting payroll reconciliations and resolving discrepanciesResponding to payroll queries from employees and internal stakeholdersWorking closely with HR and Finance to ensure payroll information is accurateSupporting the development and improvement of payroll processesHelping to develop the payroll function as the workforce continues to grow About You We are looking for an experienced payroll professional who is confident managing a sizeable workforce and comfortable taking ownership of the payroll process.
You will ideally have:
Strong end-to-end payroll experienceExperience processing payroll for 300+ employeesSage Payroll experienceStrong knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory requirementsExcellent attention to detailThe confidence to work independently and take ownershipStrong communication and organisational skillsA genuine interest in progressing into payroll management Progression This role has been created with progression firmly in mind. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their responsibilities organically as the organisation grows, with the long-term plan being to progress into a Payroll Manager position.
As the workforce increases, so will the scope and responsibility of the role, giving you the opportunity to shape and grow the payroll function rather than simply stepping into an established management position.
