About this role
We are recruiting for an experienced Airfreight Operations Specialist to join our client’s business in the Heathrow area.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced freight professional who is confident working independently and taking complete ownership of their workload.
You will be responsible for managing airfreight operations from start to finish, with full responsibility for your shipments, customers and day-to-day workload. This is a role where you will have the freedom to manage your own work and use your experience to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Location: Heathrow
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Working Pattern: Fully office-based
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing airfreight shipments from start to finishHandling both air imports and exportsTaking full ownership of your own workloadManaging inbox and customer enquiriesHandling invoicing and relevant documentationLiaising directly with customers, suppliers and overseas agentsCoordinating shipments and ensuring deadlines are metDealing with customs entries and shipping documentationPreparing freight quotations and obtaining competitive rates and routing optionsSupporting spot rate requests and identifying cost-effective freight solutionsPreparing and checking air waybills, customs and other freight documentatioResolving operational issues independentlySupporting sea and road freight movements where requiredKeeping customers updated throughout the shipment processManaging your workload effectively and ensuring all shipments are handled efficiently About You
We are looking for an experienced airfreight professional who:
Has strong senior-level airfreight experienceHas extensive knowledge of air imports and exportsHas proven experience managing shipments from start to finishIs confident working completely independentlyIs comfortable taking full responsibility for their own workloadHas excellent organisational and time-management skillsHas strong attention to detailHas a professional telephone and email mannerHas excellent customer service skillsHas experience with quotations and invoicingIs confident dealing with customers and managing their own accounts/workloadHas experience using Sequoia – advantageousHas road and/or sea freight experience – advantageous
