The Company
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Management Accountant to join a growing and ambitious retail and eCommerce business. This is a highly visible role within the finance team, providing the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and contribute to the ongoing development of financial processes and business performance. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making and helping drive continued growth across the organisation.
The Role
The Management Accountant will be responsible for producing timely and accurate management accounts, analysing business performance and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparation of monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow reportingPosting and reviewing accruals, prepayments and journalsCompletion of balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of any discrepanciesAnalysing actual performance against budgets, forecasts and prior year resultsProducing monthly reporting packs and management information for senior stakeholdersSupporting budget holders with financial analysis and expenditure monitoringAssisting with annual budgeting and forecasting cyclesSupporting year-end accounts and audit requirementsWorking collaboratively with operational teams to provide financial insight and support decision-makingEnsuring robust financial controls and accounting procedures are maintainedSupporting continuous improvement of finance systems and processesAssisting with finance projects, business analysis and process development initiativesSupporting the development of accounting processes across international subsidiaries
About You
We are seeking a proactive, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.You will ideally have:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualificationPrevious experience in a Management Accountant positionStrong month-end accounting and financial reporting experienceExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAdvanced Excel skills and strong systems capabilityExperience working with ERP systemsExposure to integrated WMS and eCommerce systems would be advantageousPrevious retail, eCommerce or direct-to-consumer (D2C) experience would be highly desirableExcellent communication skills and the confidence to partner with stakeholders across the businessHigh levels of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail
