Your new company I'm currently working with a respected housing organisation in Glasgow that is looking to appoint an experienced Income / Rent Officer to join their established housing team on a temporary 8-week contract initially.This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong background in rent arrears recovery and income management who is passionate about supporting tenants while maximising rental income and sustaining tenancies.
Your new role
Managing a caseload of current and former tenant rent accountsTaking proactive action to prevent and reduce rent arrearsNegotiating affordable repayment arrangements with tenantsProviding advice and support around housing costs and welfare benefitsLiaising with external agencies and support organisationsPreparing cases for legal action where requiredMonitoring income performance and maintaining accurate recordsWorking closely with colleagues to sustain tenancies and achieve positive outcomes
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in an Income Officer, Rent Officer or Housing Officer role with a strong income management focusExperience working within a Housing Association or Local AuthorityStrong knowledge of rent arrears recovery processes and tenancy legislationExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to manage a varied caseload and work independently
