Tradewind Recruitment is working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bedfordshire that is looking for a dedicated and resilient PPA Teacher to join their team from November.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils who face barriers to mainstream education. Working with children and young people with behavioural needs, you'll play a vital role in maintaining continuity in their education, building positive relationships and helping them re-engage with learning.
What you'll be doing:
Delivering engaging and adaptable lessons across a range of subjects and year groups to cover teachers' PPA timeSupporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs in a specialist educational settingEstablishing clear expectations and promoting positive behaviour through consistent classroom managementAdapting teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs and abilitiesCreating a structured, safe and supportive learning environment where pupils feel valued and encouragedWorking collaboratively with the wider school team to support pupils' academic progress and personal development
We're looking for someone who:
Has previous experience working in a school or PRU, with experience supporting children with behavioural needs being essentialHolds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)Is confident managing challenging behaviour and maintaining clear, consistent boundariesIs patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils who may have had difficult experiences of educationCan adapt their teaching style to engage pupils with diverse learning needsWorks well as part of a team while using their own initiative
