Our client, a highly respected international organisation, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their EMEA Finance team based in Hatfield. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take ownership of financial accounting activities across the Benelux region while supporting wider European and UK finance operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust controls, supporting statutory compliance, and partnering with stakeholders across multiple finance functions. This position offers strong exposure to an international environment and the opportunity to contribute to ongoing process and control improvements.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance leadership team, responsibilities will include:
Supporting monthly financial reporting and the preparation of annual statutory accountsManaging external audit requirements across Benelux entitiesSupporting VAT, tax and wider statutory reporting obligationsAssisting with month-end close activities, including journals, reconciliations and financial analysisAccounting for inventory, sales and cost of goods soldMaintaining strong balance sheet controls and ensuring reconciliations are completed accurately and on timeSupporting fixed asset accounting and prepaymentsProducing cash flow reporting and forecasting informationReviewing and enhancing financial controls, procedures and operating processesBuilding effective relationships with teams across Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Compliance and Internal Audit throughout Europe About You
We are keen to speak with qualified accountants who can demonstrate a strong technical accounting background combined with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Requirements
ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualificationStrong understanding of statutory reporting, local GAAP and IFRSPrevious experience within a financial accounting roleStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesAdvanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial systemsExperience with SAP or a similar ERP systemAbility to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholdersExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsStrong relationship-building and collaborative working style Desirable
