We're looking for an experienced Client Manager to join our Letchworth team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong client relationships, developing teams and delivering high-quality accounting and tax services to owner-managed businesses.
The Opportunity
As an Client Manager, you'll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of owner-managed business clients, overseeing the delivery of accounts, tax compliance and outsourced finance services.
Working closely with clients and colleagues, you'll play a key role in ensuring exceptional service standards while supporting and developing junior team members. This is a varied and rewarding role offering the opportunity to make a real impact on both client success and the wider growth of the department.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Client Manager, you'll be responsible for:
Managing a portfolio of owner-managed business clients and acting as their primary day-to-day contactReviewing statutory accounts, management accounts and financial reportsOverseeing corporation tax and personal tax compliance workLeading client meetings and providing practical commercial adviceBuilding strong, trusted relationships through proactive client serviceSupervising, mentoring and developing accountants and bookkeepersAllocating work across the team and monitoring workflow and deadlinesResolving technical queries and escalating complex issues when requiredManaging WIP, billing and debt collection across your portfolioSupporting process improvements and helping drive departmental performance and efficiencyCollaborating with colleagues across tax, payroll, audit and specialist service lines to deliver a seamless client experience
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
ACA or ACCA qualification, or substantial equivalent experience within an accountancy practice environmentStrong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and business and personal taxationExperience managing a client portfolio and delivering excellent client servicePrevious experience reviewing the work of others and supporting team developmentThe ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and budgets effectivelyExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsA proactive, commercially aware and solutions-focused approachA genuine passion for supporting clients and developing peopleExperience working with owner-managed businesses and familiarity with software such as CCH, Xero, Sage or QuickBooks would be advantageous Most importantly, we're looking for someone who shares our values, enjoys working collaboratively and is passionate about delivering great results.
