We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and technically strong Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to join our corporate tax team, based in our Leeds office.
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Tax Partner, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the corporate tax team and providing technical tax support to a diverse portfolio of clients. Working closely with colleagues across the business to deliver exceptional service and practical solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise, build meaningful client relationships and progress your career within a growing and forward-thinking organisation. You will assist with complex tax advisory projects, compliance, technical reviews, quality control, and overseeing the corporate tax team. This is a broad role requiring excellent corporation tax knowledge and a strong understanding of other areas of UK taxation.
What You'll Be Doing
Tax compliance
Undertaking corporation tax reviews for complex or higher-risk clientsSupporting tax reporting and compliance requirementsIdentifying tax risks and ensuring appropriate actions are agreed and completedAssisting partners with specialist tax consultancy projectsDealing with client queries and HMRC enquiriesIdentifying and implementing tax planning opportunitiesManaging own flow of work and those of junior team members
Technical and advisory support
Leading or providing technical oversight on complex tax advisory projects Reviewing technical advice to ensure it is accurate, practical and communicated clearlyUndertaking detailed technical research across multiple areas of UK taxationSupporting Tax Partner and other senior stakeholders with complex or higher-risk tax mattersProviding particular technical leadership in relation to UK corporation taxWorking collaboratively with colleagues across personal tax, accounts, audit, VAT and other specialist teamsCompleting and overseeing tax quality control procedures Identifying recurring technical or procedural issues and developing practical solutions
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
CTA / ACA Qualified Significant post-qualification experience gained within an accountancy practice, professional services firm or similar environmentExcellent UK corporation tax knowledge and a strong working knowledge across multiple areas of UK taxationSubstantial experience of complex tax advisory and technical review workExperience of identifying and assessing technical, compliance and quality risksThe ability to research complex matters and reach clear, well-supported conclusionsExperience of reviewing the work of other tax professionals and providing constructive technical feedbackThe ability to explain complex tax matters in plain English to colleagues at all levelsStrong written communication skills, including experience of preparing technical reports, briefings or internal guidanceConfidence working with Partners and other senior stakeholdersStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage several complex matters simultaneouslyA collaborative, proportionate and commercially aware approach to problem-solvingTechnical proficiency and good IT skills, including intermediate Excel
