About this role
Finance Operations Coordinator
South Oxfordshire Multi Academy Trust £38,221 - £45,092 per annum
South Oxfordshire Multi Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a highly organised and proactive Finance Operations Coordinator to join its central finance team. This pivotal role is responsible for supporting the effective operation, governance and compliance of financial systems and processes across the Trust's schools.
Reporting into the senior finance leadership team, the successful candidate will oversee key operational functions including finance systems administration, audit coordination, procurement support, banking and mandate administration, financial communications, documentation management and staff training. This is not a transactional finance position; instead, it focuses on maintaining the systems, controls and governance infrastructure that underpin strong financial management and compliance across the Trust.
The Finance Operations Coordinator will act as a key administrator for the Trust's finance systems, ensuring user access, approval workflows and delegated authorities remain accurate and compliant. They will coordinate internal and external audits, maintain audit records, prepare evidence packs and monitor actions arising from audit recommendations.
The role also includes responsibility for maintaining finance policies, procedures and guidance documentation, managing finance-related queries from schools, supporting procurement compliance, coordinating banking mandates and supplier administration, and developing training materials and guidance for staff across the Trust.
The successful candidate will possess strong organisational and administrative skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Experience of finance systems, audit processes, procurement administration or operational finance within an education setting, academy trust or similarly complex organisation would be advantageous.
This opportunity would suit an individual who is confident building relationships with stakeholders, enjoys improving processes and is committed to delivering high standards of financial governance and operational support.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking Trust, making a significant contribution to the effective management and continuous improvement of finance operations across multiple schools.
