Multi-Skilled Joiner
Location: Bury Council, Bradley Fold Road, Angouleme Way, Bolton, BL2 6RS
Pay Rate: £23.00 - £25.00 per hour (Umbrella)
Temporary Contract: Full Time | Initial 2 - 3 Month Assignment | Potential for Ongoing Work
Bury Council is seeking an experienced and qualified Multi-Skilled Joiner to join its Responsive Repairs Team. Working across occupied and void council properties throughout the borough, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services to residents.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson with social housing experience who takes pride in delivering first-class workmanship and customer service.
Day-to-day of the role
You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of joinery repairs and maintenance works, whilst also undertaking secondary trade duties as required. The successful candidate will be expected to diagnose and resolve repair issues efficiently, ensuring work is completed safely, professionally and to a high standard.
First and second fix joinery worksInstallation and repair of doors, frames, skirting boards and architravesWindow and lock repairsKitchen unit and worktop installationsRepairs and renewal of composite doors and UPVC windowsGaining access through various door lock and window mechanismsTimber flooring repairsRoofing repairsBoxing-in works and stud wall constructionGeneral carpentry maintenance across housing stockBasic plumbing repairs and installationsFitting sinks, baths, wash hand basins and WCsMinor alterations to pipeworkTiling and re-grouting worksPlaster patching and minor brickwork repairsPointing repairsUnblocking WCs and waste pipesRepairs to gutters and downpipesReplacing taps, washers and waste fittingsBasic painting and decorating tasksExternal maintenance including paving slab and gully repairsUndertaking works identified within void property standardsAttending training and carrying out duties commensurate with the role Required Skills and Qualifications:
Time-served Joiner with relevant qualifications, NVQ Level 3 QualifiedExperience working within social housing repairs and maintenanceAbility to undertake a broad range of secondary trade dutiesFull UK Driving LicenceOwn toolsExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage workloads effectivelyReliable, professional and committed to delivering a high-quality repairs serviceResponsive repairs and maintenance to council housing stockDiagnosing repair issues and achieving first-time fixes wherever possibleEnsuring all work is carried out safely and in line with required standardsDelivering excellent customer service to tenants and residentsMaintaining accurate records of completed work Benefits:
